So much personality

I can’t believe how much personality you have at such a young age.

You’re only 18 months now, but you are so expressive and thoughtful.

This afternoon, you and your sister were watching a show in the living room, sitting in our wingback chairs. You got down to bring something to us, and I said, do you want me to help you get back in your chair, to which you nodded your head and turned to walk away. I followed you to the chair and when you got there you put your finger down on the seat and looked up at me. It was precisely clear what you wanted help with.

Tonight when I was putting you to bed, after we finished reading your books, you said “Ah Bush you”…which at first I didn’t understand, but then realized you were saying “I bless you”, which is the song we sing every night before you go to sleep. As I began to sing it you sang along to I bless you …. and hummed along on the parts you couldn’t say. After we finished singing our song, you were playing with me by trying to lick my face, which is an incredibly adorable gesture from such a tiny little child. I might see you as younger than you really are, but you continue to impress me with just how much personality you have, just how much you try and how much you say.
